The Orchard

We recently planted the first elements of our orchard.  Fruit trees, nut trees, berry trees and berry bushes, all native of course, will fulfill a lifelong dream of having a variety of fresh fruit right outside our door.  The trees are loosely planted in a grove while the berries are cultivated on trellises or kept shrubs.  Some of these are located in other areas of the property.

Below is a list of the plants we are hosting.  All of these have been purchased from local sources.

3. Elderberry (Sambucus nigra ssp. Canadensis)

4. Maypop Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata)

5. Butternut tree (Juglans cinerea)

6. Common Pawpaw (Asimina triloba)
